Taipei, Aug. 14 (CNA) China will allow individuals to visit Taiwan for tourism purposes when the conditions are right, a visiting tourism official from China said Saturday.
Shao Qiwei, director of China’s National Tourism Administration and head of the Cross-Strait Tourism Association (CSTA) , said that China will seek to revise the relevant regulations on the basis of a “gradual opening” policy.
“The CSTA will consult with its Taiwanese counterpart, the Taiwan Strait Tourism Association (TSTA), and will select suitable cities to start allowing visits by individual tourists when the time and conditions are right,” he said. more …
