Boy performs in guard-changing ceremony

A 3-year-old boy was seen performing alongside the Honor Guards at Martyr’s Shrine in Taipei City yesterday at the changing of the guard ceremony with his mini rifle made especially for him by the Ministry of National Defense (MND).

The boy, known as Ryan, dressed in army green, was under the spotlight during the ceremony as he twirled and tossed his rifle like his older counterparts.

Local reporters said Ryan missed a toss or two on Thursday but remained professional by calmly picking up the rifle and continuing the routine.

The young star was invited to be a part of the ceremony after short videos of him performing with a small umbrella, shot by his parents, became popular on the Internet, reporters said.    more …
